I've heard about Asia having a messed up traffic system but after having seen it with my own eyes, I've realised how extreme the UK's health and safety regulations are compared to the Philippines. Literally, there isn't a traffic system, with the constant sounds of cars beeping to make other vehicles aware they are passing by, pedestrians walking across the road, motorbikes sweeping past so close to the jeepneys which are speeding across the roads. It makes me wonder how deaf people drive, as the sound of the horn beeping is essential for driving in the Philippines.
In Cebu, it takes ages to get anywhere. The traffic is so bad, it took us 3 hours to the beach, when it was supposed to be a 30 minute drive. We hired a private jeepney, and oh my god it was scorching hot, the heat was unbearable! But after arriving at the beach, it was worth it. I was amazed at the white sand, and the clear water too!
And again, after the long journey back and another meal of rice, we all went to check out the shopping mall in Cebu. It was massive. I got lost in there, not gonna lie but it took me 45 minutes to go back to where I was originally, in Starbucks. But it's amazing in there!
We all got the jeepney back to the nunnery, where we were staying but ended up getting lost and splitting into two groups. It ended up with 3 jeepney rides back and we returned after our curfew, but luckily they still opened the gates for us!
I haven't slept properly for the past 3 nights, hopefully I'm gonna catch some proper sleep this time! First time I've ever been jetlagged, it's horrible!
