Initial reaction when you approach this island is panic, the east beach is full of construction. There is a pier underneath the water where the longboat drops you but nothing to mark the sides so one poor girl took a bad fall with her full pack into the sea...gutted!
It's a quietish town so headed up to the hotel recommended (highland resort) and although it was no phi phi it was a great room and good price which is hard to find in Railay.
So sitting at the bar on the front speaking to a couple about how gutted I was I didn't get The details of the guys we were trekking with in chiang Mai at the very moment they walk past...small world!
Railay is a beautiful place, walking through to the cave beach and up to the viewpoint was beautiful. Nightlife is limited as it's now season but still managed to find a couple of londoners up for a session at bamboo. Not the best when you are leaving at 6am!
It's such a chilled out island that you could stay there forever but unfortunately the Thai visa is running out so off to Langawi now.
