So after a 7 hour bus ride on a cramped bus (which I was told was only 4 hrs) I had made it to Arequipa my first destination in Peru, and I was greeted to an awesome sunset out of my hostel dorm window, which was an awesome end to a very long day of sitting on the bus. I went out onto the main strip which was right at our front door; I finally made a good choice with my hostels!!!
I went out to a traditional Peruvian pizza place and had an awesome ham and pepperoni pizza and my first taste of Peru's L&P, Inka Kola it was a great feed and was only 8 dollars New Zealand with some cheesy garlic bread. Back to the hostel and was checking over my plans when I realised I had added an extra day to my schedule but quickly I made some changes and opted to take a night bus to Cusco the next day leaving at 8pm so I had the whole day in Arequipa and slept through most of the 10 hour bus ride to Cusco so crisis averted!!
The next day I did the normal thing I do when making it to a new city was go exploring on my own until lunch time and then head out and do something a little more organised, so I went and looked around the markets and grabbed some street food and then in the afternoon took a tour around the cathedral which was awesome I was a little disappointed since I couldn't take any photos though.....then 7pm came around and it was time to make my way to the bus station and head to Cusco the main part of my stay in Peru....
