SUNDAY 2OTH MAY TO WED 30TH MAY
After watching Chelsea fluke it and getting 3 hours sleep we got the bus to stay with Mirriam and Ted in Batesmans Bay for a couple of nights. Had a quality time-getting the local tour, catching up, and being treated to meals out and Mirriam's delicious cooking! It really is a gorgeous place and you have to envy them.Tip to Rach- swing by when your over there and get Mirriam to make you some of her chicken soup!
Met up with Big Dave and little K in Melbourne and checked out the shrine of rememberance and the Botanical gardens. In the evening we introduced the two of them to the goonage in the hostel and planned to hit the town.Unfortunately DAve's a lightweight and was falling asleep.lol Checked out the town centre the next day and did a bit of shopping-pretty nice city. Were having a few quiet ones in our hostel at night when Toadie off neighbours walked in.Turns oout the cast have started their own rival night and he was promoting it.Got chatting to him and Ive never seen Katie so excited!lol He was a quality guy!
The next morning we picked up the hire car and set off to cruise the GOR (Great Ocean Road) for a couple of days overnighting in Port Campbell. Out of all of the stops the 12 Apostles at sunset were the highlight-spectacular! (check out our photos on facebook) Although Katie came a close 2nd when she told this guy that his photo of us was brilliant!! even tho his thumb was covering half of it!lol
Rushed back to catch the Aussie Rules game at the MCG getting back just in time. Out of loyalty to everyones favourite historian Andrew Bailey I supported the BOMBERS where as everyone one else favoured Richmond Tigers (who turned out to be the underdogs).Me and Dave had a pint riding on it and he was acting somewaht cockily as the Tigers led convincingly going into the last quarter. But to his dismay the BOMBERS snatched victory from the jaws of defeat in the last minute!!The scared look opn the womens face when I went celebrated was priceless! She obv didnt know I had a pint riding on it! The satdium is class, the game was brillaint but the atmosphere was nowhere as good as I imagined tho.
The next afternnon we jumped on the tram to check out St Kilda-bit more run down than I was expecting and but apparently a had a very nice "coffee culture" acording to the girls.Me n Dave went for a pint or two n left the girls to their shopping. In the night we got boozed and hit the backpackers night at PJ O'Briens with me and Dave tearing up the dance floor.
Monday was the day we had all been waiting for all our lives- 'Neighbours Day' and I'm sure its one we will all chersish for all eternity. Took the tour to Erinsborough High school, the studio where they film it (only saw the outside-the garage and Grease Monkeys and Ramsey Street) On its own the days a rip off-posing for pictures with fake signs held up but Susie K and the Fletch-Doctor Karl turned it into a bargain.Susie K posed for pictures, chatted and signed things-she might be 50 but she is still gorgeous!!Doctor K was driving past and stopped for achat. You might be thinking life doesnt get much better but it did!!!To the Neighbours night-Toadies one!! Not too bothered about the new guy Fraser or Elle Robinson-who apparently only eats greens when I smoothly offered her a potato wedge. BUT Janae was an absolute stunner!!and Paul Robinson was an absolute legend!!!!!!!!!He even posed for an amputee photo!!We were like kids at Christmas!!Sad amybe but there it is!Did I mention Janae fancied me????
Definately made the right choice-there was only about 50 people instead of 500 at this night so we had more 'quality time' with the stars plus Janae and Toadie's bro Gazza were at ours!lol
Dave and Katie sadly left us the next morning. We checked out the Melbourne museum which was pretty good as far as museums go.Ive given em all a fair go but they still aint for me.Traeted ourselves to lunch out and thats about it for Melbourne.Off to Kiwi land!!!
