This blog will be a short and sweet one as we haven't been impressed with Adelaide. It's been raining on and off since we arrived which has hampered us doing outdoor things and when it's not raining it's freezing!!! We didn't pack for this weather! Plus we found there isn't much to do here.
In between showers we had a freebie day and visited Tandanya - National Aboriginal Cultural Institute and looked at some colourful Aboriginal artwork on display, then we visited the South Australian Musuem which had lots of fossils including an opalised dinosaur fossil, metorites, the largest gold nugget, aboriginall culture etc. After the SA Museum we headed to Haigh's chocolate factory (acccording to Kirstie this is the best chocolate in OZ) for a free tour and tasting - nothing beats free chocolate!
Yesterday we took the tram to Glenelg beach, why we decided to wear shorts and flipflops nobody knows! We attempted to walk along the pier but it was so windy and cold we dived into Rodney Fox's Shark Experience to keep warm. Mr Fox was attacked by a shark 30 years ago and somehow survived, now he's an advocate for sharks and has even worked on films such as Jaws, He has spent most of his life understanding and promoting sharks, he didn't realise the negative affect the film would have on sharks.
We've also spent a lot of time planning the next leg of our trip up to Coober Pedy, Uluru, Tennant's Creek , Katherine and Broome. We've picked up loads of good tips from people staying in the hostel, including the 3 day Uluru camping tour which we're really excited about.
As you'll see theres no pictures for Adelaide - as we have't taken any!
So thats it from here.
