Gav & Sarah's Travels
After a long 12 hour bus journey we arrived in Sydney on the 19th of may.we booked into a hostel thats right in the middle of the city, lets just say the queen wouldnt b happy stayin there haha its ok if u like paper thin matresses, drafty windows and smelly rooms!! we originally booked into a dorm room but after walking in n seein that a bomb had exploded in there n 2 smelly guys were staying in there we changed rooms.haha. we grabbed a map n set off exploring straight away an caught our first glimpse of the harbour and the opera house!! the weather was lush!!was boiling-a nice change from the cold weather in Melbourne!we soon discovered it wasnt going to last long though :o( Our first outing was 2 a place in northern Sydney called Manly. we caught a ferry across the harbour which made sarah turn green - sea sick :o( and spent the day being lazy on the beach n wondering around! we caught the ferry back n get some lush photos of the harbour as the sun was going down! The next day we decided 2 visit the famous Bondi Beach. it aint as impressive as ud think, its kinda small and run down but was still impressed 2 b walking along Bondi.haha. we took some photies with the sign-sad we no but it had 2 b done! we went on a tour with some guys from the hostel which took us along the coast between Bondi beach and Coogee Beach, some nice view-except 4 the grave yard we had 2 walk through-nice!! coogee beach was nice as well but as u can see the nice weather we thought we would have in Sydney only lasted a day!!!it has been freezing since!! we went on our first night out in australia-we went out with some of the guys from the hostel!!loads of free wine :o) absolutely foul though! Gav got very drunk haha n wasted all the next day in bed recovering!! our last trip was a tour around the opera house!!not really our cuppa tea but it had 2 b done!from the outside it looks quite small but from the inside its huge!!they took us around the different halls n theatres n even gave us free refreshments haha - our highlight! we learnt a bit about the building design-quite interesting actually! The harbour bridge is massive-would have loved 2 have done the bridge climb but dont think our stomachs would have taken it!! well we are leaving Sydney now-weve both got jobs working on a farm in a place called Mildura - packing oranges hahahaha we start on monday for 10 weeks!!!hopefully should b fun n its tidy money!! :o) they havent got the internet in the new hostel so we prob wont b updating this 4 a while!but keep txting us n we'll email when we can!
