This was quite the week! Jessica and I went out every single night at Sotabanco! Thank goodness for siestas because we took one every day! I had a test on Thursday in Cultura and a test Friday in Phoenetics. I studied for a long time for Cultura because by the sounds of our review, everything was going to be on it! Especially during the true and false. This week went by sooo fast! Saturday came up quickly and our school group had an excursion planned to Segovia. We met at the Plaza Zorilla and took a coach bus with the group. I slept most of the way of course
When we were getting to Segovia, the view of the city was absolutely GORGEOUS! It was difficult to take pictures but I have some! When we got there, we broke up and went our separate ways. My professor, Sergio, said that there was a beautiful castle, besides the main one a couple miles away from the city that was definitely worth seeing! Even though it was 100 degrees, I was determined to go. In lou of my search for it, I got a little lost... and didn't find the right castle. I asked a group of people where it was and they told me I was in a pueblo (town) of Segovia. One of the older men in the group notcied my expression and helped me find my way back. On the way, he became my personal tour guide! He was soooo proud of his little town. He showed me their little castle, a church built way back in like 1906, which he could not stop talking about, and he was like a celebrity! Everyone knew him!
Finally, I got back into the main part of Segovia. I wasn't going to risk getting lost again and it was getting close to meeting time with the group, so I took a taxi. Unfortunately, because of my personal excirsion, I missed the main castle/palace, but I still had quite the adventure! I met up with the group and the picture above is at the famous Acueducto! It was sooo pretty! It was built by the romans as an irrigation system for the city! It was huge and it goes on forever, I think like 17 kilometers around the city.
After we all got back, Saturday night was the most fun night that Jessica and I had here! We went out literally until the sun came up. We spent time at Sotabanco, Soportal and I went to my first discoteca ( like a dance club/bar) called Mambo. It was such a blast!!!! We met sooo many people and Sunday, we went to the beach and just relaxed! I love that I live only 3 minutes from the playa pequinito! :)
