We got here this morning at about 7:00am after the worst train journey in the world which started with us trying to get through to some guy about how he was sat in our reserved seats. I finally got some sleep by lying in the corridor of the train after eight hours of trying to sleep upright. That was before another person commuting to work tried to sit in our carriage, again. Mike explained how the seats were reserved only to be told "sorry, I don't speak English", well in.
Again, we couldn't check in to our room for another six hours so we got another Maccies and then a few of us went out on a free tour led by an Australian who was one of the most over enthusiastic, annoying people I think I've ever met which caused me Markclare and Green to leave before the end to get back to the apartment (and to avoid having to tip him because we're poor student travellers).
We got in to the apartment and its by far the best place we've stayed, we've got our own oven as well so Mike can satisfy his processed potato goods addiction. We decided to go to Hooters for tea because we heard they had a good menu and that's the sole reason we went. Scott managed to tell them that it was Cuban's birthday so after our meal all the girls came down singing some weird chant starting with "hey girls, Cuban Dave is having a birthday!" and then got him to stand on a chair with a menu under each arm and a balloon tied to his wrist. Thinking back, it was a bit odd but he enjoyed it all the same.
Before going out to Karlovy Láznê better known as the five floor club which is essentially Prague's equivalent of the K except bigger and better... and cleaner, we managed to get on to pranky Pete Price with Sean getting in the line "it tasted like chicken, Pete". The five floor club was hilarious and despite there being a horrendous ratio of whoppers to 'normal' people it ended up being a really good night topped off with us being asked if we wanted to go to a strip club, the woman eventually gave up asking us after Pilks said she was ripping us off asked for student discount as well as trying to pass Frank off as disabled, again, for more discount.
Sean, Jord, Scott and Powell all got off today leaving just nine of us left. Not for long because Powell and Scott are flying back to meet us in Berlin and Amsterdam over the next few days but it still feels odd without the full thirteen of us.
A few of us met up with Will for a pint in the afternoon after eventually finding Wenceslas Square. We found him stood there in yet another piece of horrendous clothing, as expected, this time a £2 orange checked jumper bought from a supermarket in Poland. We went to a bar called The Beer Factory where you can pull your own pints which, first time round, didn't go too well for me and Will leaving us with a pint of foam each. We then tried to find the Absinthe shop which Will claim he knew where it was. He didn't.
After Will had it off we headed back to the apartment where everyone was knackered, again. The two weeks away is definitely catching up with us so most of us went to bed to get an early night.
We had to move to a different hostel this morning due to the apartments having been only booked for two nights. The new place isn't too bad despite the reviews that Frank read out last night being hilariously bad.
We finally got out to have a proper look around Prague and saw the main castle and walked along St. Charles's Bridge. We managed to get to the Ice Bar around fiveish which was boss. We all got given big silver bubble jackets that made us look like a bunch of gay Arsene Wengers and a pair of gloves. Regardless of the warmth of the coat, the majority of us were wearing flip flops and shorts so within minutes we couldn't feel our toes due to it being about -10. After our 30 minute slot in the Ice Bar we settled on somewhere to eat in a quiet side street but didn't stay long after the waitress had a go at us for sitting down and moving two tables together, saving her a job. So we decided to leave and find somewhere else, the bint. After struggling to pay for the bill because we're all running low on Koruna's and can't withdraw money until tonorrow because we've exceeded the limit we headed back to the hostel. I think we're going to try and find somewhere to watch the fight later but not sure yet, I just want to sleep because of our 8:30am train to Berlin tomorrow.
I've enjoyed what I've seen of Prague but I think we haven't seen as much as we could so it would be worth coming back on a longer trip. Looking forward to Berlin now though, the past two weeks have flown by.
