... The journey continues. I have managed go get some sleep - it would be ok, but the bus just keeps stopping. I think Chris slept some as well. But he was closer to the gang that didn't stop talking about crap. They were travelling all the way to Vancouver, I know This because they wouldn't stop banging on about it. I would defiantly fly if I was making that journey. Even if it was $200 more.
The greyhound bus stopped for breakfast. We walked across the road, and grabbed a muffin, and stuff from a shop before walking back, to continue onto Winnipeg. Unlucky for us. We have the hillbillies join us again. I took my seat towards the front of the bus, and laid down straight away, so I could protect my spare seat. We still have 10 hours to our final destination. I didn't known but when we stopped for lunch, Chris had a crazy nut nut woman sit next to him for that last part of the journey! Ha Ha! Had some great views of the sunrise over the many lakes we drove past.
Our lunch stop was at A&W. It is a Canadian fast food chair. The home of the buddy burger. Also known as the yuk burger, at least that's what I think of them. Plus they are the home of root beer. Yuk.
On the last part of our journey we sat together because the bus was busy, and Chris had had enough sitting next to the nut jobs at the back of the bus. We played some cards and slept. I was so glad when we pulled into the Winnipeg greyhound station. It was actually located at the airport, but only a bus journey to downtown where our hotel is.
We got onto the bus, and it was about 15 minutes, halfway we were going through a suburb of Winnipeg, it looked pretty rough. The bus had stopped at a bus stop, and across the road 2 girls were flighting, both with hands full of the other girls hair. Screaming, other people getting involved. Everyone on the bus was watching - but did nothing. The bus driver then just pulled away while it was still going on. It broke up for a little while before one taking a final launch. A punch, and she managed to start ripping out more hair, & another girl came in to help! It was crazy! Was looking forward to arriving at the hotel.
A guy helped us with the correct bus stop to get off at, it was only across the road. It had started to get dark. We checked in. And headed to our room.
The room was nice, and we decided to spend the evening down the local - also know as the hotel bar. The Regal Beagle! With in 1 minute of arriving - Chris had been offered blow!! We are in such a classy town. (girl flights and drugs) Beer was pretty cheap, and we started the Harper-O'Sullivan pool tournament. I was getting better the more beer I drank, Chris wasn't so go - and I think the score was about 5-2 by the end of the night. We had decided we wouldn't walk around this town in the dark - it was rough as!
Tomorrow we have a day of exploring the city, before we start another night bus tomorrow night.
