Our trip over to Manly was tops, and we came back at sunset and so there were plenty of nice photos of the Harbour bridge and Opera house to be taken. We went out a couple more times in Sydney, and drove out on the Friday. We decided to do the trip between Sydney and Byron bay, over a few days so that we weren't driving long stints, and there are also some top places to be seen on that stretch.
Our first port of call was Port Stepehns, where we parked up the van overlooking the beach, so after we woke up, stepped onto the beach for a swim. That afternoon we went Sandboarding which is great fun!
The second night we stopped at Port Maquirie, where we would have liked to have slept on the beach, but there was an iron man going on and so we wouldn't have been able to leave the bech until 5, so we parked in some residential area, and walked a short way to the beach, we also went to a Koala hospital here which was sweet...especially as we found a noise that seemed to wake all the koalas - BRILLIANT!
We then spent two nightsd in a place called Coff's hrabour, which was a really nice little town, and from here we went to Dorrigo national park for a hike, with loots of waterfalls, and wildlife etc.
We finally reached Byron bay! There was supposed to be no accomodation at all, but we went to a hostel where some mates we have made were staying and there was room so that was flair. They are really nice little apartments, with your own tv, kitchen, bathroom, balcony etc. so we have been really lucky. We've been here for five days, and leave today to Surfer's paradise, via nimbin! In Byron we've just been swimming alot on the amazing beach, going out, and chilling. Today we got up at 6, and went to the most easternly point of Australia, to see the sunrise. Sadly there was too much cloud, so instead we just walked up to the lighthouse, and saw dolphins playing about beneath.
