We hit the castle on the day that they had a lot of activities for families to come and enjoy more interactive learning about the history of Cardiff Castle. He was preparing to talk about different weapons back in the history of when the Romans were attacking. On another note, when we toured the museum in Merthyr area there was a blurb about a Welsh leader being defeated, after putting up solid defense against the Romans I will add. He was taken to Rome and then spared his life. When he spoke with Ceasar, I believe, afterwards he was quoted to have said " Why, when you have all of this, do you want our miserable tents?" I will try to verify exact names and such but I thought it was funny. The Welsh, unfortunately, have not always had a very easy existence even if in a beautiful area. They have a long history of struggles with the English. Between the drought's, the English and the very heavy land they occupy - theirs has not been an easy road.
