So, today is the day - Wednesday 18th April - the flight to Paris is scheduled to leave Tullamarine at 3pm. But it's currently 12.30pm, and rather than staggering under the weight of my backpack to the checkin desk, I'm on the couch at home in South Yarra. With a leg that doesn't want to work anymore, and no idea when I'll get to start the trip around Europe that I've been planning for the last few months. All I can say is 'Thank god for travel insurance!!'.
But, given we still had the 'Fran's leaving the Country' party on Friday night, I've decided to start this travel blog anyway (this decision probably has more to do with the fact that daytime TV is already sending me mad!!). I'll upload some pictures from the party later today.
Right now I'm going to embark on today's epic journey - getting from the couch to the shops to buy some food and the paper so I can spend the afternoon lounging in the Royal Botanic Gardens - a beautiful place to spend a sunny afternoon, whether you're a Melbourne local or not!
