Ingatestone to Harwich
Thanks again to Phil and Mads for putting us up for the night.
At one point, during dinner, I said to Jackie - "Should we phone mother?" She replied - "What time will it be there?"
Today. 1st September - Not great weather again. But nothing like yesterday. It was a day of passing showers. Some quite heavy.
Leaving Ingatestone this morning, we were serenaded by some local guy singing about sunshine whilst standing by the roadside, the rain fell. Made us smile.
We cycled our way up to Harwich via Chelmsford (where radio was invented) and Colchester (the oldest recorded town in the UK and once capital city, before London took over).
The last few miles, from Manningtree, was along the estuary where flocks of geese were flying low, overhead.
Bikes and legs all see to be working ok.
Holland tomorrow...
