A takeaway effort from the Ritz Cinema's candy bar. So... Low expectations then. There's a strange milky taste to this one, which takes away from the taste of the beans. It's weird. However temperature is good, and the aftertaste is pleasant. A middling, monotone journey. AF

The plan was simple. Get up really, really early, and grab an incredible spot overlooking the Harbour bridge. Well, we had already done the reconnaissance - the spot was to be Balmain East, a location suggested to us by a work colleague of Alice's. Waking up at 6.50, we assembled our pre-prepared picnic from our bnb fridge and popped it into our cool bag. The buses immediately tricked us though, they were on holiday timetables. How very dare they?! Not panick...

A takeaway to deliver to Foxy, guarding our spot in Thornton Park with our view of the harbour. Given that it was 10 mins between getting it and drinking it, it's not a surprise that it was a perfectly drinkable temperature. Strong but smoothed by a full fat milkyness, this was the coffee equivalent of a Baileys. A journey of instantly nice, then a bit worse while cooling, then nice again once cold. Brilliant berry muffin and croissant for breakfast too. AB

Foxy's delivery to me in Thornton Park this time. Again, given the gap between buying and drinking, it arrives at a perfectly drinkable temperature! Initially nice, but bitter burnt flavours come out as it cools. Disappointing, as we've seen Toby's Estate beans used in plenty of places, so had hoped for better. AB
