Paradise! Arrived after a 6 hour mini bus journey to the port of Kuala Besut. Pretty much got a boat straight away which was good. Headed for Long Beach on Kecil which is the smaller one out of the two that make up Perhentian Island... it was a half hr boat journey. Once we got even a little bit close you can see the sand because its such a bright white! The sea is pure turquoise... never seen water like it apart from in a swimming pool ha! We dropped a few people off at various jettys then arrived at long beach.. big strech of two lines, turquoise sea and bright white sand! We had to transfer to a tiny little 'taxi' to get to the beach which was quite funny with our huge backpacks! Found our little hut in Sympony Village, all accom was along the beach front, it was RM25 a night which works out at 2.50 each! It was very basic but all we needed and after a week it felt like home! Had a resident gecko too which was comfy above lucys bed! Mainly lounged around during our time on the island.. spent a lot of time in the sea, it was sooooo nice! Did some snorkelling, which was amazing.. saw so many beautiful fish and coral... at one point we had literally hundreds of small fish surrounding us! We also saw about 4 small sharks which was pretty awesome! There were turtles too but we were too slow and missed them/it! Didn't want to leave this slice of paradise but KL was calling!
