Kia Ora! (Hello from NZ!!)
We arrived in Rotorua and bookd ourselves on a few trips. The first night we went to a Maori concert and hangi. This was a sitdown meal cooked in the oven dug in the ground. We watched them do the hacker and learnt about the maori culture. We enjoyed watchng the mens bums when they were dancing!!!! We saw a sacred stream which was surrounded by glow worms too.
The next day we went white water rafting on the Kaituna river. We went down a 1m, a 3m and a massive 7m waterfall!!!! They grade 5 rapids, this was truly amazing and lots of fun!! Jess got the brunt of the action when she fell out the raft when we went over the big waterfall, had to peck the guide for falling over first (i was pushed!!!!!!) and getting head drunked in the water at the front of the raft. But we survived all the action.
The following day we went to Wai-o-Tapu Thermal Wonderland. We saw the Lady Knox's Geyser, the bubbling and plopping mud pools......which reminded us of the bog of eternal stench from 'the Labrynith'. We walked around and saw the sulphur caves/ lakes and the champagne pools etc. The smell was horrid!!! Eggy farts is the best way to describe it!!
Lots of love Jess and Faye
