Canoe Trip from Gagaju bush camp..............
Got picked up in Noosa afet a 5 hour bus journey dropped at the supermarket and told to buy food for the next 3 days camping in 20 minutes - needless to say I sepnt about 15 mins wandering round the supermarket tryiny to thing what you can cook on a gas ring. Anyway arrived a Gagaju bush camp which was really really cool! Just outside of noosa by the river is a kind of bush camp down a 2km dirt track. They have hammock type things for beds (suprisingly comfy) and a tap in a tree trunk to clean your teeth.....
We started our 3 day canoe trip accross the lake into the National Park which was like being on the sea - hard work! Anyway eventually got into the river system which was really tranquil and made it to out campsite to be greeted by some friendly goannas!
The next day we were up and paddling by 6am (!) to cover 40km up into the national park to hike up to the sandblow - pretty impressive - like a massive sandpit in the middle of the forest.
Scenery was amazing and so so peaceful we hardly saw anyone in the whole 3 days apart from the local wildlife. Well worth the effort and the cold tinned spagetti eating! never been so excited to spend 20cents on hot water for a shower in my life!
