Going from the Perhenthians to KL was an adventure! It was lovely to have company while we were in KL, we did pretty much all our sightseeing with Colin and Rach.
As always when on an island it was a bit of messin round to get off it. A little boat at 7:40 a bigger boat at 8 then the bus at 9. We arrived in KL round 5:30, the bus just drops you in the middle of the motorway! Our hotel was rubbish as per. So so expensive to sleep in Malaysia for rubbish rooms! We did a reky an had some dinner in China Town an walked through the market but we're early to bed to be fair, all 4 of us were shattered!
Our first full day in KL we went sightseeing!! Was really looking forward to it an it didn't disappoint! Our first stop was the KL tower, the communications tower. We only walked passed firstly but we went back later. We headed straight for the Patronas Towers. They were unbelievable!! I didn't realise how tall they actually are an they are so perfectly built! We wandered round the shopping centre which is on the first few floors looking at all the shops we can't afford to buy anything in. They even had there very own Tiffanys! We wanted to go up them but they were 80RM so roughly £16, if we were Malay it would have been £2!!!
After here we got some lunch in a restaurant close by, it had an offer on so made it pretty cheap. We then went back to the KL tower an had a look round there. There was a nice park inside for you to sit an chill out in. After here we went to a small mosque where we could walk round the grounds an take pictures. Mike an Colin had to wear skirts an Rach and I had to wear full cloaks. I'll get a pic on here when we get better wifi!
Our final stop before home was the National Mosque. It was huge. We couldn't go in only look from the outside. We walked the whole on KL that day roughly 10miles according to the pedometer!
Needless to say, we had a quiet night! We got back to the hotel an there had been a leak in our room so they moved us to a room which had its own bathroom AND AC!! Thought we had struck gold! Mike stayed up to watch the liverpool game but we did find a new whisky, not as good as Hong Thong but it was drinkable for £3!
Our second sightseeing day we went up to the Batu Caves first thing. Before we left we were made to move rooms again :( knew it was too good to be true! I kicked off a bit because it was our 3rd room in 3 nights, they ended up giving us a refund for one of the nights! Winner!
The caves are really close which was a surprise. We had a walk round these an up the stairs to the temples but again we couldn't go in. We got the train back into KL sentral - the bigger station in KL. Found our way out finally and had lunch in little India. It was lovely, I had this braised curry beef for a change. £12 for 4 of us including drinks an popadoms....day light robbery hey!
It was then time to walk round the shopping centre as usual an admire all the lovely clothes! Colin bought an external charger for his camera as the battery had gone. We then went over to the National Museum, it was really well done to be fair. Had a section for early years including how Malaysia was formed etc. It then went on to history of Rulers an how the Dutch an Portuguese had a huge influence on things like trade, currency, the army, all sorts. Obviously it then went on to the British take over. An it finished with its independence an recent issues
There was a second museum for weapons which again was done well. It has all sorts from 100BC to current weapons used. Tanks, guns, knives the lot! Mike an I then went over to the Central Market to have a wonder round, it was mainly crafty stuff to be fair. We were looking for a cover for the Lappy. That evening, again we were shattered so watched half of the Chelsea game and then went to sleep!
Final day in KL :( sad times. We went back to the shopping centre an bought a mouse for the laptop, so much easier now! We then walked to the other market, they all have pretty much the same stuff but I love walking round them! After here we walked back to the hotel an I made a cover for the Lappy out of a vest I don't wear, pretty good if I say so myself! That evening we went to see the towers. Absolutely Amazing. Such a lovely evening to see them too! We walked round both sides of them to get some pics, some better than others!
Love you all xxxx
