Well Christmas is over and it was a strange affair for me, I knew I would miss home but not as much as I actually did. The days leading up to Christmas were odd and waking up knowing I wouldn't be seeing my family didn't seem right.
Thankfully I found an Irish pub and had a lovely Christmas dinner with turkey and all the trimmings, they had a resident local band who played music in the evenings and gave a splendid rendition of The Fields Of Athenry amongst others. It was also especially nice as I spent it with 2 young ladies I had met on a few occasions on my travels, we had planned to meet in Bali and coincidentally had booked to be in the same area, another massive coincidence was the fact they hailed from he Hebdon Bridge the place where the 2 other people I had met in India and also had a good connection with. So thankyou Robyn and Rosie for spending Christmas day with me, you were my family for that day and I will never forget that.
Arrived in Ho Chi Minh a couple of days ago and a bit different from the last few weeks calmness of Bali, the traffic and roads are completely mental, but it's just what I needed, a new country and a new challenge.
Like other countries I've landed in I have no fixed plan other than I am heading north to get a border crossing into Laos.
