Spent 4 days in Singapore and the only way to describe it was huge ugly buildings, lots of people and very hot. The comparison to London is obvious except people on the tube escalator don't push you out of the way and I saw at least one person smile while travelling on the underground!
The place is obsessed with technology and even in restaurants groups of people sitting together are staring at devices totally oblivious to their surroundings, this new generation maybe technically more gifted but the art of conversation is being lost.
In a strange way I felt completely trapped in the environment and was uncomfortable with the amount of people and noise, I guess this may have something to do with me being a country boy at heart.
No pictures to show from Singapore, if you want to see some then google it, there is no culture and no class, instead I have posted a photo of a cave from Mulu.
I am writing this having just arrived in Yogyakarta in Indonesia and already feel so much more comfortable being around non pretentious folk and have engaged in a normal conversation for the first time in days.
I am human again.
Knowing you don't know is wholeness, thinking you know is a disease.
