We arrived in Costa Mesa early this afternoon. A surprisingly relaxing drive down the 405 through LA brought us to the door step of my Aunt Kathy. Always a gracious host, she met us at the door with refreshments and tropical environs.

As the sun sets on the Santa Paula portion of the trip the heat wave is rolling in. Temps are predicted to be in the high 80's for the coast and of course the interior will roast. Next stop Costa Mesa and Huntington Beach.

Peanut bowl at Santa Paula. Fast and fun despite some cracks and a victim drain depression that likes to reach out and grab you and drag you into the nether regions of the SP sewers.

Santa Paula, CA skate park. This is one of those fenced in prison parks. Got lucky when it opened 30 minutes early and got a good hour and a half or so in. Met some locals who were skating off the previous nights party. Good times!
