Day 4 - Las Vegas Ive spent the day on the strip!! It's 42 degrees and air conditioning is the only option!! Had breakfast/ lunch at Dendys and got chatting with a guy that told me he was a professional gambler and he also told me his tricks!! I plan to win big tonight to cover my shopping expenses!! Today the true journey on Route 66 started!! Leaving LA at 11am a little behind schedule as normal!! I decided to take the original route, which took me through every town and traffic lights in the greater LA area!! This doubled my journey time of course!!! Once on the freeway it was easy driving especially using cruise control at 80mph (Don't be worried I was careful!!) The landscape is hard to describe look at the photos and multiple the area by about 1,000!!! ...

Denny's for my first breakfast in America! The only way to eat!! Grand Slam pancakes coming my way!! Had an amazing morning of culture at the concert hall and music theatre and then went on the angel flight the first train in LA!! Celebrity sighting - actress who played Alex Dupree on one tree hill!! The afternoon was full of fun and shopping!! I got out of the heat by shopping at Beverly Centre most things out of my price range, but I still got a few things!! ...

Day 1 of the big adventure complete!! Spent the day sorting out my car rental and my USA mobile!! But this evening I drove along Mulholland Drive at sunset and then topped the day off with a drive along Sunset Blvd and Maccas for dinner!! Air miles - 7,230 Land miles - 25
