Managed to cut off the end of my last entry by accident. But anyway we're now in Lima, the capital of Peru. Our hotel is pretty luxurious compared to what we have been used to! And it has an armed guard on the door... Although I have actually felt pretty safe walking around - you just have to be careful what you take with you i guess. Last night we had a plan to go out all together for dinner and then go out dancing. However, we ended up scuppered on both counts ...

Went canyoning this morning which was amazing! It basically involves abseiling down waterfalls, which were freezing cold, but it was so much fun. About 9 of us went, all girls so I think our guides were a bit worried but we were all amazing, obviously. We went down about 8 waterfalls, the one in the pics was almost the biggest although not the hardest. Apart from the canyoning I have mostly been........ eating chicken and chips! it seems to be the local spe...

So I wrote the longest update the other day and then managed to lose it.... Yes I am a div. But anyway I will give you a round up of what I've been up to for the past week: After a rather heavy night at our hostel in Baños (we managed to find gin which has proved fairly difficult up to now!) we set off in the morning to go to the jungle. Our transport was these little bus/cart things (see pics) with open sides, which was great for getting a bit of air but...
