Hi everyone... well I am finally here. I'm still so excited, even though it feels home from home as it is raining and 15 C!!! Had good flight, slept and everything. My hotel is lovely. Done a tiny bit of sightseeing this afternoon, after a little disco nap (I'm starting to struggle again now - think I'll be off to bed soon)
Met a retired couple on plane (he was the S&T manager for Cadbury NZ) and they know all of the old managers I work with. They've invited me over to theirs for dinner... (I'm not going where they live though) The kiwis are all very friendly/nosey - which is really good when you are a dumb bird trying to find your way round, looking lost and getting wet, with jet lag kicking in.
Oh yeah, Jayne, thanks for my little corn dolly angel, but she was taken away from me at customs. I had to declare her as she was made of straw (or face a $10,000 penalty if I tried to hide her!) The customs guys were lovely though and let me take a photo of them holding her, so I can have the photo of the little angel for my camper.
The girl at passport control used to work on the Whale cruises in Kaikoura and wrote the telephone number down for me... you just wouldn't get this in the UK hey!
Well I will try and add some photos soon and keep you posted on my little adventure. Wish me luck as tomorrow I pick up Floss - please let reversing be easy!!!!
Anyway take care all, fairy hugs and angel kisses
Clare (aka Fairy)
