First day on the road went great. Jenae and I got the car all packed up, was a TIGHT fit, but it all fit. Hit the road at 6:25am and went through Nevada, Arizona, and finally got into Utah. Hit some In N Out Burger for the novelty of it and headed to Zion in hopes of getting a few hikes in. The drive was smooth overall and we had some fun along the way with a cow heavy Nevada State Sign Picture to spearhead the experience.
We got to Zion about 3pm Mountain Time and hit the trails. Luckily we got in the Weeping Wall, the trail that leads up to The Narrows, and the Emerald Pools. All very much more active than when I came in the Fall of '08. Obviously Spring has a big part in that, but it was still awesome to see all the waterfalls! Got a little brave on the Upper Emerald pool and decided to climb around to the back and for my efforts got soaked to the bone by the spray just before dusk.
Got our campsite set up, ate dinner, and are going to turn it in soon. Very efficient day today, covered a lot of ground on and off the road and had a blast!
Tomorrow looks like another hike or two in Zion, then either Slot Canyons or off towards Moab and Arches National Park!

Arches National Park The Virgin River has gnawed through native sandstone to create the incredible scenery found in Zion Canyon. The river itself now serves as a natural corridor for exploring the park. There are several easy, self-guiding trails along the river, along with more challenging hikes where the river and its tributaries cut through narrow canyons. http://www.wildlifeworld360.com
