Well, unfortunately I am not quite as adapt at computers as I had thought I was Therefore, the nice pre-voyage blog I had written did not get saved and so this first blog on my new adventure is being written at 40,000 feet in the air.
For those not quite yet aware of what I am about to embark on, a quick description.
As part of my study at the Hotel Management School, I have to do a 5/6 month internship in a 4/5* hotel anywhere in the world. Those who know me will guess that my wish was to embark on this adventure in Brazil, however, due to bureaucratic issues, this was not possible and after a long and eventful search, I have secured a wonderful internship placement at Le Méridien in Chiang Mai, Thailand in the Food and Beverage department. And this is where I am now heading to!
As it was all very last minute, the past two weeks have been filled with getting everything ready, from visa, to vaccinations to everything else that accompanies such a journey! And definitely not to be forgotten, the emotional and psychological preparation! It has taken me quite a while to wrap my head around the fact that I will be spending 6 months in CHIANG MAI!!!! It is the complete opposite to what I had expected, not only in flying direction but also culture and life in general, but I am certain I will have a wonderful and educative time!
Just like when I spent my 5 months in Brazil in 2013, I will be blogging about my experiences in Thailand again. Yet, this time there will be a slight difference as well, besides the usual stories to tell, I will also be writing some blogs on hospitality trends and events and giving some focus on my internship and its learning aims and goals. So I hope you enjoy sharing yet another adventure with me, and please, please let me know if you have questions or comments!!
