In one of the cells was the story about a woman hanged there called Emma Williams. She was sentanced to death for the murder of her baby. It was quite a sad story actually - repeated throughout the gaol in other womens stories. It seemed she had become unwillingly pregnant. Unable to cope with the depression and the poverty of the time she killed the baby. Really sad.
