What a relief to hear from you again! So glad you're ok. Faith will be home on Monday morning; she's posted her last journal entry on her website, which is quite emotional. We're both feeling a bit strange about her return. But we're really looking forward to getting together with you (and the other Terrapins of course) very soon now. Make the most of the next couple of weeks! Lots of love, xx
Emily

Friends; this evening we phoned the hostel where they went after the accident. We were told that they have disappeared into the sandy wastes; apparently in good spirits. Some sort of transport was arranged but we know little. A South African colleague of mine nodded sagely when I told him what had happened today and said "it sounds as though she is experiencing the real africa". Their next stop seems to be somewhere called Itosha, which I am about to Google. Em may not be able to get to any communication for a while, so anything we may hear we will post. I can't quite do Emiliy's racy pacy style, but can pass on information! Love to all. Good luck and love to you Em XXX.

Dear Em, Shocked to hear about the accident; but impressed at how brave you're being and relieved that you've not broken any bones. Chin up - we're all sending you lots of support and hugs through the ether! Do hope the pain soon lessens and you'll be safely on your way again before too long. Take extra care of yourself. Much love xxxx

Dear Emily
We're all really, really sorry to hear about the accident. Extremely glad to hear that you have survived without too many broken bones. What a scary experience!! Hoping, from Philip's message that you will be able to continue with your journey after a bit of rest.
Talk about baptism by fire - it sounds like you've been having a life changing experience on a big scale. How on earth are you going to cope with tame old England when you get back....?
Take care, chica, and a big hug from us all.
Dad
Message to friends; em phoned this evening to say that the van they were travelling in swerved to avoid a Kudu and went off the road. All bruised and shaken, one person with a broken foot, Em painfully bruised but determined. Van a write off. No lol here then! However, looks as if the trip will continue. Em will no doubt give us her usual restrained description when she gets access to the internet, but that may be a while. I thought I'd update you. Love to all, and to you Em whenever you get to read this. Dad/ Philip

Hey Biker Babe, your dunes sound huge and crazy fun. Not bad .... second lot of desert dunes in a year... How spoilt can one be? Keep sending us the bulletins. Since we don't know much about your exact daily plans, it's great to get the next exciting installments; a bit like a TV soap. . Love you loads , miss you and can't wait to see you and hear all about it. All well here. PS, just watched a documentary about the Soweto uprising of 1976 .
Dad
You cool devil; can it have been as good as my sand-surfing in Oman? Ho Ho. Love from all Terrapins. XXXXXX
Dad
Sounds like a mad trip; must be shattered. How come you are typing your journal on the grass? Whose Laptop have you nicked? Keep typing; can't be too long for me. XXX
