HELLOOO!!! as per... it's been a while since i lat updated as its difficult to get the time and it's so expensive! But i will try and keep this short and sweet...
Over a week ago i sailed through the whitsundays on a catermaran and it was the single best trip i've ever done. The weather was incredible and the views were so so beautiful!!! i couldn't have asked for anything more perfect (as cheesy as that sounds!) i stayed on the boat for two nights and we just sailed around, doing some snorkelling and going to whitehaven beach which is up there with the purest sand in the world and you can get a 2 year jail sentence if you get caught trying to steal a small bottle from australia! mental.
Everynight we dragged matresses up to the deck and got a sleeping bag each and basically fell asleep under the stars... the sky is so clear you can see pretty much everything! so the last thing i saw when i went to sleep were the stars and the first thing i saw when i woke up was the ocean. pretty amazing!!
But anyway it was a pretty hardcore 10 days or so with the only night off i had was on an overnight bus! So i went to magnetic island for a few nights just to chill out and recharge. I just sat on a beach and FINALLY.... i have a tan!!! it's very exciting. 8 weeks and lots of sunbathing later and i am at last an off white colour.
It was only a 6 hour journey up to cairns from magnetic island. and it's been pretty hardcore since i got here. the first day i went diving which was AMAZING! i was only meant to do one dive but of course i did another one in the afternoon. There was probably more fish in Thailand but the coral was sooo nice here(and i didn't think i was a massive fan of coral). Also the turtles were very friendly!!! Although it got a bit awkward when the asian man who obviously didn't listen to the instructions about not touching turtles, grabbed its shell from both sides and posed with it for a photo. not cool.... the photographer punched him.
the next day i left for cape tribulation and the daintree rainforest which is just north of cairns. i was a bit disappointed in the trip as the others kind of set a pretty high standard. Buit it was still fun. i went and held a koala which was the one thing i wanted to do in australia! and just sat on the floor with about 3/4 kangeroos around me just stroking them.. that was good too. Then did a crocodile cruise looking for them in the wild and saw a couple.ermmm and then saw where steve irwin died! pretty morbid really... and then a walk through the rainforest. I stayed overnight in teh WEIRDEST hostel ever... barely any lights and really deserted. nowhere to eat or anything. so off i went with the other guy in my group with a torch, roaming around the rainforest in the middle of the night looking for food. slightly dangerous when i look back but i made it! and then in the morning i went zip lining which was also very fun. so i guess thinking about it now we did do a lot of cool stuff but compared with the other amazing trips it wasn't quite up there!
But Anyway! I'm just sat in my hostel having checked out and waiting for my transfer to the airport as i will be arriving in New Zealand!!!!. it's crazy im half way through... it's weird as it's gone soooo fast but at the same time it feels like i've been gone forever. but i'm having the time of my life and i would not have changed a thing! (exept maybe that week of rain we had)
probably going to get some breakfast now. LOVE YOU!!! xxxxxx
