(sorry this is so late, i wrote it last week but it got deleted :( ) Just a quick update to let you all know I got here okay..! (Being told at the airport I might be refused entry with a one way ticket)! We had planned to go straight to sleep after our 21 hours of travelling, but arriving at 9.30 seemed like the perfect time to go for a drink , met a couple of people and ended up going out to a bar in plaza garibaldi , where all the mariachi were (groups of pot belly men singing really loudly with instruments) we kept getting wafts of poo, And being called guadita which means blondie. The next morning we did loads of sight seeing including the national palace and some aztec ruins. Got some little tacos for lunch for about 30p, not bad! we then went to a market with people from the hostel to get food for a bbq. Got the biggest prawns iv ever seen, and found my new favourite fruit, these mini mangos that you peel with your hand and eat straight away. Went to a a bar and drank fermented cactus which they mix with different fruits, pretty thick and sticky.... not for me..! The next day we went to some more ruins i cant remember the name now it feels like ages ago. but they were massive pyramid things, killed me to walk up them..! in the evening one of the mexican guys we met too us the the wrestling, it was so fake it was kind of annoying, but i think the more i drank the more real it looked..! After mexico city we got a 6 hour bus to oaxaca.... really nice town, had a little wonder, went to a few bars ended up drinking muzcal which is a disgusting mexican spirit made from cactus root. I think your supposed to sip it, but it was so bad we had to shot it, which i dont think the locals were too happy about. Ended up going to a mexican party and doing salsa with them.., ( or trying at least, i think there were a few mexicans with sore feet the next day) lucy woke me up at 9, to say we were going on a 9 hour tour round the city... we started at a big tree....? not sure what else to say about that, then went to a weaving factory, some pools with a waterfall, more ruins, and finnished at a mezcal factory, which made my stomach turn as i was still suffering from the night before. We then got a 6 hour mini bus (worst journey ever) down the puerto escondido which is a really lively beach town. We went on a boat to see massive turtles had some beers on the beach and got really sun burnt..! The next day we had surfing lessons, where we both stood up first time..! but i think our teacher was pushing our boards quite alot to catch the waves. We had a couple of really good nights out in the beach bars with people from out hostel, and ended up getting a lift on a tour bus to the next beach town Mazunte, where we went on boats around a crocodile lake. were currently staying in a house wih some really nice mexicans for free which is good, althought its up some massive steps on a hill with a graveyard all round.. which is quite creepy..! Our spanish is coming along slightly..! cooked them all dinner yesterday... tuna with garlic, peppers mash and veg... it turned out really well, althought cooking in a kitchen full of ants made me want to vomit. we were supposed to get a bus last night to our next stop, but they were all full so we stayed here four our 4th night... (we were supposed to only stay one..! ) managed to get on a bus tonight though, so i guess we will spend one more day on the beach...! aaaaaaaanyway, id better go, sorry its so badly written iv just woken up and was in a rush... iv missed loads out, but thats a brief update..! xx
