6th - 9th december
dear all.
it is a bit of a rainy friday so charlotte and i are taking a rest after what has been a very busy week. we are currently in noosa which is a beautiful little town right on the coast so the beaches are lovely. we arrived on wednesday afternoon after returning from fraser island on tuesday night and LOVE it here. yesterday we went for a long walk through noosa national park right along the coast. we went in search of interested bush creatures (except for snakes and spiders) and saw the tail of 1 snake, LOADS of disgusting insects and a fleet of dolphins! we took the coastal walk to 'hell's gate' which is a cliff in the shape of a really sharp U with waves crashing so hard against the rocks - wouldn't like to fall in! then we turned to the tanglewood trail to walk through the rainforest a bit. after 40 or so mins we saw a jogger who told us it was a further 2hrs to the end of the track and we thought seeing as we had already been walking about 1hr45mins we had better take the 'emergency services access only' path to join us back to our fav coastal track - as you do. we saw a little fight between 2 birds and a goana (a hUGE lizard) - we think it might have been trying to steal their eggs. when we reached the coast again, that's where we saw the dolphins. it was so exciting that we stood for ages watching them glide through the waves and jump out of the water every now and again. then we got an ice cream and went home!
we had planned to go to the beach to get a bit of sunshine today but the rain keeps falling from the sky. we're still in the tropics region so we're just getting the beginning of their rainy season - just our luck! we're off to australia zoo tomorrow and then catching a connecting coach to brisbane in the afternoon where we will stay for 3 nights. it is such a huge town, we are definitely not going to run out of things to do! charlotte's friend siobhan is meeting us on monday and we are travelling down to sydney together for christmas.
miss you a bit ;)
