We stopped off in Atlanta for a mere 8 hours on our way to Peru so didn´t have much time to take in the sights. We left our stuff at the airport after experiencing the completely nonridulous Atlantan system of collecting your bags, checking them in again and then collecting them once more and went for a lil explore, accidentally taking a wrong turn and ending up in the ghetto. Gregg should have been used to it as the atmosphere was much like Peckham but we didn´t hang around and got back to the more touristy area as quickly as we could!
The wind began picking up as we were walking around and I was pretty convinced that we were going to be blown away by a hurricane (that´s what happens in America) so we found a nice looking restuarant and somehow ended up having a slap up meal with our ´contingency money´. Not exactly roughing it but the pound is strong against the dollar just now, we needed to take advantage of that fact! We also met the nicest waiter in the world, I´d forgotten just how much I love eating out in America. He´s going to be my new best friend.
Once we were completely stuffed, we headed back to the airport for an overnight flight to Lima, my favourite kind.
