If you want to spend your day and talk about it for half a year – go to Trakai! Together with the bunch of friends we visited more than five objects in the city center of Trakai and Trakai island castle for the dessert. The old town of Trakai is full of pleasant surprises – we visited Trakai Kenesa (one of the few still in use in Europe!) where we were introduced to the culture of Karaites. Also, we went to the old post office building and Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary (must see!). After enjoying delicious kibinas (must try!) we saw the pearl of the lake Galve – Trakai island castle. It seems that every stone smells like history books as it has so many stories to tell.
