What a beautiful city Moscow is. Feels like walking around in a Disney film! Well not quite but the buildings are very pretty. After we checked in yesterday we left our heavy bags at the hostel and set out into a thankfully not so busy Moscow. We followed a tourist route that passed a few of the major sights and we ended up by the red square that was closed!!! There was a lot of scaffolding and looked like there had been some sort of show. Today at breakfast we found out that there was a light show on last night, so we missed that we went inside St Basils church (the one with all the fancy colourful towers) it was really nice inside, every wall was painted with icons and swirls and all sorts. We also walked through this massive mall type building that was reaaaaally long with three floors. All the shops were fancy ones like dior, Louis vuitton, Burberry, jewellery shops and posh cars parked inside. We didn't fit in at all! We tried to find the bolshoy theatre but we couldn't find it, must have been something wrong with our map when we got back to the hostel we had showers!!! What a wonderful feeling to be clean again had a chat with our roommates, ate some noodles and went to sleep. And what a nice sleep it was! No hard beds or people snoring, so we didn't get up until 10:30 this morning. After breakfast we made our way down to the kremlin with our roommate from down under Lauren. She was meeting some friends in town so we explored the kremlin by ourselves, so much to see, and so many nice cathedrals. We finished off with a tour of the armoury chamber. A museum with lots of treasures, clothing and articles of importance to Russia and it's history. Quite interesting and impressive but I think we need to learn a bit more about Russian history. We checked out the red square again today, the scaffolding was being taken down so hopefully it'll all be gone tomorrow. Haven't been back at the hostel very long, went to a supermarket to stack up on supplies and now were gonna take it easy, do some clothes washing and then go to sleep
Tomorrow we're going to a park just around the corner (we think) and visit the chathedral on the picture: Cathedral of christ the saviour, maybe check the red square again to see if all the scaffolding has been taken down so we can actually get a nice picture. Then at 21:30 we board the transiberian train!! So we might not update for a few days, we get to china about the 4th november, so we probably wont be able to update our blog until then. Oh yeah! We saw a few snowflakes, been about 4-5 degrees today brrrrr!
Bye for now!
With love

Lyzette Hiya. It hasbeen nippy here today after a beautiful sunny day yesterday. Chey's singing and playing went well and they made just over 2000kr which was fab considering the lack of people. Will continue to follow your historical adventure. Love x x
