Leaving home was very sad and exciting we've been planning this trip for over a year and it has finally arrived.
We arrived in one piece to the neon raining Japan!! The plane journey was very long and with no tv working to watch films etc we had to move to rubbish seats half way through the flight to watch a decent film.
The views were great from the plane as we were landing we could see loads of rice fields. We managed to make our way to the hostel with our heavy bags only getting lost when walking from the Metro due to rubbish directions.
After getting sorted at the hostel we decided to go for a walk in the area we were in to find some food. (bear in mind both of us don't eat fish and unable to read and speak a single word in the local lingo) We now know how to say Thank you..
We woke up today to the sound of rain which was pants, so we decided to find somewhere indoors to visit. After a short Metro and a train ride we arrived at Ryogoku where the Edo-Tokyo museum is.
The museum was full of Edo and Tokyo history which was cool I just wish we had read up on it before we left. The place was full of school kids they kept on saying hello to us which was a little strange suppose they just like to put their english lessons to practice. We have some pictures we'll upload them when we get a chance. We went out for lunch and while eating it in a park we got attacked by killer pigeons. (Flying rats thought we had left them in York!!) We then finished the last few exhibitions in the museum taking in the culture.
On the way back we stopped off at Akibabara 'AKA' Electric Town which was sooooo awesome we walked around the cheap electrical goods stores wishing Japan was our last destination so buy loads of cheap stuff. We came a cross a eight stories high building just full of every kind of electronic thing you don't need but very cool we want to buy everything. Found a great place to eat in the store on the eighth floor and stuffed our faces as we haven't had a proper meal since Sunday.
We'll try and put some pictures on tomorrow as we go to Kyoto on Friday.
Lots of hugs and kisses
Smelly Ellie & Koala Carla Mwwwwaah ♥
