Elles Bells Adventure!
Well we left Vang viene after 8 days of chilling out in bars watching telly and tubing and made our way to Vientene, the capital of Laos.
Wasn't expecting much from the plcae as hadn't had very good reports but it was absoulty huge! so different from the other places we had been too, a proper capital city. I did my fist looking around for a guest house with matt and we managed to find an ok one for $5 a night which is about 2.50 a night between me and george so quite cheap!. We did loads of sightseeing in Vientene (see photos), including Buggha park and a big gold building thing. We also manage to get ourselves caught up in a huge thunderstorm, think it was actually a hurriane. we were in a restaurant and all the lights went out and the wind was so strong and the lighting amazing! Laos has the best storms. When we ventured out later there were loads of tree uprooted and loads of destruction everywhere. it was mad.
We also went bowling which was great fun and i, being rubbish at bowling managed to get 2 strikes in my first 2 go's i was well impressed!. Another night we wnet to a club and no joke we were the only western people in there! its was brillient and the music was great. then a few western men turned up but as seems to be the thing in south east asia there were there only to 'talk' to the local girls if you get what i mean. its a bit sick really!
So all in all i really liked Vientene and could have stayed theer longer but our visa ran out on the friday (12th) so we had to get gone to Vietnam and say goodbye to Nic and Matt. Me and George booked ourselfs onto the party bus which left at 6pm and i was dreading it as had heard some really bad stories, anyway it had to be done so i'll let you know how it goes!
