Where do I start?
I don´t remember what I wrote last time, but it must have been sometime on the east-coast.. So I´ll start from there :)
Whitsunday sailing was great! Whitehaven in rain.. Was quite the sight :P But the boat and crew was awesome! This brit travelling with us drank 8 liters of goon in 2 days :O But he was funny (and yes annoying!) But when he fell asleep on deck and woke up with a sunburn on only one side, I had to laugh :P (evil!) Our group was pretty cool, we hung out with these austrian guys, and in the evening we partyed with the staff at the resort where we stayed ;)
The snorkelling was awesome! And I want to do it moooore!! I saw the biggest fish ever! It was half as big as me! :O And all these small ones in neon-colours or bright yellow.. Stunning! And the reef was beautiful!
Enough about white beaches and sunburns..
After that we went a bit north, and then inwards in this huge kontinent... Aaaand... We broke down 6 times on the way.. Breaking down in the outback is just funfunfun.. Sitting there on the side of the road watching the wild camels and donkies and emus and f-ing huuuge birds.. We got the car working again though and got to Mt. Isa where we fixed the car.. Only drove 2000 km to get there.. Pjuu! And then another 1000 to Alice Springs :P
In Alice, we went on this tour to Uluru, Kings Canyon and Kata Tjuta.. Worth the moiney! Wow! Our tour-guide was completely mad, but nice, and totally crazy and cool :P Uluru went over any expectation I´ve ever had! And The stories, and meeting the Aboriginals and just feeling the vibe there was very spiritual and it gave me a good feeling.
We saw the sunset over Uluru and the sunrise over Uluru and Kata Tjuta, anazing colours.. looks like every postcard you´ve ever seen :)
Kata Tjuta, was pretty cool as well, we had to hike it before 11 o´clock, since the weather-forecast said 45 degrees... I drank 3 liters of water before 11....?? Crazy heat!
But it was beautiful! And I learned a lot.. I love the outback..
Kings canyon was the ending of the whole trip, and it would be a 3 to 4 hour hike, starting with heart-attack-hill and just continuing in that direction.. I loved it! The hike up there and the view.. Can´t even describe it..
Unfortunately half way over the canyon (in The Garden of Eden) I twisted my ancle, and hit my knee and hand... So I had to jump down this freaking canyon on one foot.... Ouch! But I survived it :P
And as a little treat we went out with the other rock tour and our tour-guides at a bar in Alice and it was awesome! A good party! We had so much fun! We even ran out of gas.. In the outback between Uluru and Alice.. Our guide just: "No worries, grab a beer mate, we´ll wait for a car to come by"
We met two cars on the way so....? But luckily? A car came by and gave us 5 liters of fuel, so yeah, it worked itself out ;) But that is an adventure tour for sure :) One of the best I´ve been on so ;D
Then we mad our way south to Coober Pety, the Opal-capitol of the world, where we lived underground, because of the heat.. The hostel felt like a dungeon, but was the cooles hostel so far ;P
We just drove to Melbourne now and are relaxing in the Nunnery....? Yes I know what you are thinking.. But it´s only a hostel, where we were lucky to get two beds :)
It´s cool here though ;)
We get free wine tomorrow, so I´m definately staying for a while :P We like the nuns here too :) Staff is cool :)
We weren´t that lucky today either.. Our tire blew.... :( But luckily? right outside the hostel :) So we´re going to change it tomorrow ;)
We went to the Queen victoria Market with some other germans we met here, and it was like this huuge winter-market (only here it´s summer) and they had food of every sort and drinks and clothes and jewelry and fun!
I bought a necklace and earrings :) And some funky cheap food with chocolate and yum! :)
Now It´s time for bed soon.. Tomorrow we have to call someone to tow our car and change the wheel.. Damn.. Stupid wheel..
But another day awaits tomorrow, and I need some sleep and a bed!! I have a bed :) No more sleeping in the car for a couple of days :) I love the car, but I mean.. Truck-stops are not the coziest place to stay, especially with the flies and mosquitoes :P
Nighty to you all, and no worries ;) that´s what I´ve learned so far, everything will be alright ;) No worries, relax :) No worries :)
