Winged Victory of Samothrace
This is my favorite art peice. I first learned about it a few years ago when I took an art history course, and fell in love with it. It took my breath away when I actually got to see it in person. It used to have arms that extended outward and a head. It was placed on the front of a ship. It's significant because it's the first time Roman sculptures display the appearance of wet clothes. As you see here the fabric appears to be stuck to the body.
