We have just spent 2 nights in Coffs Harbour, a small holiday town. Not loooads to do here apart from surf, however due to still being aching and bruised from lesson 1 I decided to stick with the safety of my book. There were two main beaches, one for surfing and one for swimming but we spent the day on the swimming beach. It's been really really hot whilst we've been here (still summer temperatures) which is apparently quite unusual for this time of year as normally it's started to cool off by now. However I spent my day on the end of a jetty in the harbour where there was a beautiful breeze. Met a old local man who goes for a walk along the jetty everyday whilst I was there who used to be a teacher and I think I got his entire life story, plus the life stories of several of his mates, which was actually really interesting. He also told me some pretty good jokes but I can't remember them now!
Also whilst on the jetty I was looking over the edge and spotted a giant turtle swimming around right near the surface, and he stuck his head out of the sea to say hi. About 5 seconds later a stingray swam by!
