Most of the time, trips start way before the departure date.
We started planning for our trip about 2 months before the big date, which initially seemed like an adequate amount of time to prepare. Too bad neither I or Benni have ever planned something this big, and little did we know...the number of days, evenings and nights spent sorting things out were many more than we anticipated.
The only certainty was the flights itinerary, the stops of our round-the-world ticket: India, Thailand, New Zealand, US, Argentina!
Everything else needed planning...Domestic flights, car rentals, motorbike rentals, caravan rentals, trains, busses, equipment, luggage, budgets, vaccines, visas...
Every planning session was full of excitement and at the same time fear of uncovering yet another few extra things we needed to plan for!
Eventually, 5 weeks in we have now reached a point where there are only a handful of items left to tick on our big list before we are all ready to go!
I still need to get my visas for India and the US sorted and Benni needs to sort out the endless amount of medicines we seem to have collected from various travel clinics and anxious parents!
I have taken care of most of the equipment and I am now awaiting shipment of some last few bits from our sponsor: Tucano Urbano!
We still have more than a month to go but for us the journey has already started!!
