Well- where do I start! Had an amazing time on Fraser Island and was probably the highlight of my trip so far! We went on a self guided tour for 3 days, so hired a 4 wheel drive with 6 others and we basically laughed from start to finish.

Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world (hence the need for a 4x4!) so was great fun driving over all the bumpy inland tracks and then flying along the beach front right next to the waves. We stayed a while at Lake MacKenzie taking in the views and the crystal clear fresh water- we also drove around the other sites such as Indian Heads for the great views of the ocean and stingrays- as well as driving to Champagne rock pools, The Pinnicles, The Shipwreck and Ely Creek.

The evenings camping was great fun also. All the other 4x4's used to meet up and have a party at night. Dan, a guy in our 4x4 had a guitar and was really good on it so the party was normally around our van which was convinient! It was really surreal partying in the middle of knowhere with mostly strangers who'd also never been there before- was great fun though and a few days I'll never forget!!!
