The Wall had come down, in that East Germans could cross to the west, but physically the wall was still there. This East Germany guard cleared everyone off the wall. Further along, toward Checkpoint Charlie everyone was chipping bits off the wall as souvenirs & also helping to get rid of this monstrosity
