So we drove back along a pretty empty road, that seemed to have been forgotten about by the highway work men! As we passed through the great dividing range there were more signs of life and greenary! I was speachless when we saw our first wild live kangaroo!! He was so cute! We drove all day and got to Lisborn early evening so we stopped there for the night. Just outside the campsite was a pool - when i say pool i mean lake1 It was soooo big! it we were at seperate ends we could only just see each other!
Next morning we had a wonder around town then drove to Ballina. Its a really sweet little town that has 34ks of beachs! We went down on one of the beaches but they were all deserted! In England you see a empty beach and think " wicked - we got the place to ourselves' , out here you think - " what the hell's in the water that stoppeds the locals being here!!" so we decided to just watch the deep blue waves crash on to the beach instead! We stopped there for the night and as we were heading to our campsite we passed a couple of travellers we'd met 4 days ago, Matt and Brian, so we chilled out with them for the evening.
Yesterday we came to Byron Bay. Its a fantastic place! All the shops are quite arty/hippy like, its very individual. We found the main swimming beach and spent the day soaking up the sun ( as it turns out a little too much sun so we're not out there today! OOpps!! ) The waves were pretty big - ed went in body boarding , i tried but it was a bit too much for a rachet to take! It was really warm though, a refreshing break from the blazing sun! We found a camp site for the night and ended up parked next to Matt and Brian again! This is just getting weird now!
I think today we'll start making our way up north along the coast but we'd love to stay here longer! x x
