The most impressive fall in the area is called La Garganta del Diablo, meaning "the Devil's throat". Totally amazing!
My travel plans have changed, Im not going to Rio in Brazil as Im heading to Ecuador instead. Still, I managed to hop over the border at the Falls to see the Brazilian side and got myself a Brazilian stamp in my passport!! ha ha The falls were not as impressive on the Brazilian but still worth seeing. I finally got my chance to fly in a helicopter, a 10 minute flight over the falls from Brazil - brillant!
I also visited the largest hydroelectric power plant in the world built on the Parana River on the frontier between Brazil and Paraquay- Itaipu. Bless these countries - they are so proud of this fact but I found it a bit of a bore!!
At the end of Iquazi town Argentina stops and the river is a huge "T junction" border, looking out to the left is Paraguay and to the right is Brazil! Had to have another kodak moment!
Ive got so much to do here in South America, Im back to Buenos Aires and off to Bolivia!! This flight meant I had to go back to Santiago to get the connection to La Paz. Here I enjoyed the hospitality of "a night in the airport!". Well it had to happen at some point I guess! I arrived at 1.30 am to workmen using deafening numatic drills!! Crazy...needless to say I walked round the other side of the airport to locate my "bed"!! The blow up neck pillow Miss Sweden bought me in Australia came in sooo useful! Happy days!
