Hey there! We did not want to give you our opinion about Rainbow Beach on the last journal because we were in the Rainbow Beach Community Centre and the people in there were really nice and we did not want to offend them that much.
Basically Cess and Carol came here 5 years ago and had a really good time because it was really peaceful, tourist free and laid back! Now there are 3 main backpackers all next to each other. We are staying in Dingo's Backpackers which is a totally different experience to ours in Noosa. We were greeted by this really nice guy from Essex who has moved over here permanently because he believes that the quality of life here exceeds that of Chelmsford majorly! O.K.! Anyway, we found the rest of the staff here either rude or generally uninterested in what us charming folk have to offer. Noone here is that chatty at all and it is very cliquey. This hostel consists of wannabee Cockney wideboys, Posh English people, Gap Year Students and posh Germans. Most people here are on Oz Experience and are going to Fraser Island, so many people have grouped off here already! Oh well! not long now! We are having vivid dreams of the delights of Bali already!
We were going to do a day trip today to Fraser Island (the only reason why people come to Rainbow Beach) however, the day trip cost $120 ($15 more than planned) this was basically because the travel agent in the hostel got the $15 comission! the cheeky b****! that is why she was so damn rude when we declined at the last minute to do the trip! her look could have turned you to stone!
We have spent the last two days gracing the beach! The sand is this lovely two toned colour, it was very windy today and the current of the sea was too strong so we decided against going for a swim! At least the restaurants here are cheap but cheerful and they are really nice there!
Anyway, we have to go now! lots of backpackers have arrived and it is now our chance to get free internet as they will not notice our gazelle like departure!
Keep it real!
