Thanks to the Murray clan for an incredible day in the Western Highlands. I now know why i feel like the back country in the Canadian Rockies are my second home: its in my blood!
We drove from Glasgow NW through Dumbarton, Alexandria and along the scenic westerns shores of Loch Lomond. We finished the northward journey into Crianlarich and west to the port at Obar.
I have never had mussels so fresh in my life. Sooooo good. I also slurped back a lemon teased oyster! Oh so tasty.
The true highlight of the day was yet to come however; as we passed through the highlands at Glen Coe. It was such a beautiful and peaceful place. The clouds socked in and drizzling as it should be, I walked up a small hill to the top of the waterfall you see in the photos. Looking up into the hills it was spectacular. No photo could do justice to the panorama of misty green and rocky outcroppings. As if it could not be any more of a soul moving moment a piper started playing at the rest stop.
