Day 25-November 27/12 Livorno, Italy
Livorno is in the Tuscan region of Italy. Tuscany is made up of hills, fertile valleys and sandy beaches that follow along the West coast of Italy. The region is noted for its wines and cuisine and the people of Tuscany are noted for their charm, generosity and taste for good living. They take great pride in their art and architectural treasures. When we docked, we had a lovely view of Livorno which was developed as a trading port during the 15th century. After breakfast we headed out to take the shuttle to town. It had started to drizzle earlier but by the time we were ready, it looked like rain. We decided to stay on the ship and were very glad that we had as the heavens opened up and there was torrential rain and a magnificent thunder and lightening storm! It was directly overhead and during one strike, the lightening and thunder were simultaneous-it was quite a sight that we enjoyed dry from the balcony! We had a very enjoyable day relaxing onboard especially when we saw the extremely wet people returning from tours. Dinner was excellent as usual and we enjoyed Lemon Squeezy again before dinner and after!
