Designed by an American named Gatling who hoped to reduce the number of combatants and show the futility of war. Unfortunately it had the opposite effect and changed the way wars were fought making the casualty rates so much higher. The gun had the ability to shoot between 400 - 1200 rounds per minute dependent on the skills of the operators. This weapon was used to devastating effect in the American Civil War, the Zulu wars in Africa and the Boxer rebellion in China.
