The Hercules Statue is located at the far end of the gardens and can be seen from the chateau. It is the focal point for the line leading from the centre of the chateau and all the gardens and ponds etc are set from this axis either in line with or ninety degrees of it to ensure symmetry of all the garden structure. The statue is huge with my head coming to the ridge on the plinth above the seat from which can be seen one of the best garden views in France and certainly one of the best I have ever seen.
