The city stretches for kilometers in all directions from the Berlin TV tower which was quite close to where we stayed in Berlin. The city is a mix of old and new buildings with traditional and modern architecture. The streets are very busy with trams and buses as public transport is very efficient and inexpensive. The underground is probably the most popular form of transport as it is quite cheap and keeps you out of the cold weather as it weaves its way underneath the city.
